Life at Fourteen

Hi friends, did you forget about me? Mommy has been really busy and hasn’t been able to help me with my blog, but with the help of my Uncle Colin, we convinced her that the world needs to see my cuteness immediately. I hope that your lives have been filled with many good treats and naps!

Being fourteen isn’t easy, but there have been some perks, including getting fed 3-4 times a day now! Can you imagine, I only used to get breakfast and dinner, but now I get breakfast, lunch, tea time and dinner! You just never know when it is time to eat! Sometimes I even take some of my food with me in my beard.

Yep, that’s me with a piece of spinach.

I also take a lot of naps. Sometimes I don’t even make it all the way into my bed and then Mommy and Daddy have to help me get comfortable.

Did I mention that I only have 7 teeth left now? Yeah, that was not fun, but at least I don’t have an ouchy mouth anymore. It has also meant new treats that are nice and soft and perfect for me to eat! In fact, I’m ready to have one of those treats now – you know, the one that is good for my hips and joints that I have to have daily? Let’s eat one now, okay? Woof!

The longest three minutes ever

I’m on a trip with Daddy right now, which means Mommy isn’t around to help make my breakfast in the morning while I’m on morning walkies with Daddy. This means that I have to wait for my breakfast while my delicious Honest Kitchen noms rehydrate. Three whole minutes, can you believe it? It is the longest three minutes ever and I make sure that Daddy knows I am not pleased.

That’s right, for every second I have to wait, I make sure Daddy knows I am NOT happy. He tries to get me to be quiet, but I won’t be deterred. I want my breakfast faster, hurry up, Daddy! Woof!

Sweet potato

I love sweet potato, it is so tasty. I always know when Mommy and Daddy share one for dinner.

I pay very close attention when the sweet potato is out and make sure they remember that I need my fair share, too. Wait, what is that? Daddy, you have a piece for me now? Okay, here I come!

Oh boy, oh boy that sweet potato was so tasty. There is more for Mochi, right? Woof!

Celebrations and noms

It was a good weekend for eating. There were lots of good noms for me, although there were also things that Mommy ate that smelled really, really good but she didn’t let me have any. Take this turkey drumstick, for instance:

Look at turkey leg! It’s bigger than my head! Daddy said he bought it for Mommy. I think he meant for Mommy and Mochi, right?

Unfortunately, Mommy didn’t interpret it that way and I didn’t get any 😦

No fair, right? Thankfully, Mommy had something special planned just for me: some boiled chicken and sweet potato.

They were delicious! It almost makes up for not being able to have turkey. Almost. Hope everyone had a good weekend filled with noms, woof!

Guarding the fridge

The fridge is the best place in the house. All sorts of wonderful, yummy things come out of it! I take it upon myself to guard the fridge–plus then I can see whenever Mommy or Daddy go inside just in case there is something for Mochi.

I also let them know when I don’t think they’re feeding me soon enough.

Life is hard sometimes when you are me. Please feed me soon, woof!

Extra yummy noms

Oh boy, oh boy, today Mommy made me some of my favorite noms: rehydrated lamb Sojos!  I really, really hated waiting 15 minutes for them to hydrate, that wasn’t nice at all.  However, Mommy let me take a peek when they were done.

Can you see those delightful chunks of yumminess?  Oh boy, oh boy, I got so excited!

Half for tonight, half for breakfast tomorrow, I can’t wait!  I ate my dinner so fast, it was so good.  Now, how about some dessert to top off the meal?  Woof!

The pet store

When I am lucky, I can convince Daddy to take me to the pet store, oh boy oh boy!  I always know when we arrive and I am sure to let everyone know how excited I am.

Why do I like going to the pet store so much, you ask?  Well, in addition to being able to pick out new food, treats, and toys, I know that the kind people behind the counter always have something tasty for me.

They can’t resist this cute face, especially when I turn on the charm.  I usually walk away with a bunch of treats in my belly, yum!  I can’t wait to go back to the pet store again soon, woof!

Waiting for dinner

Dinner never comes fast enough.  To make sure that Mommy and Daddy remember to feed me, I like to hang out in strategic locations, usually in the middle of walkways.

It usually works because Mommy or Daddy eventually have to walk past me.

It’s numnums time now, right?  Woof!

Excuse me human, is it time yet?  I’m tired of waiting for numnums!

I really wish you would notice what a good boy I am.  I’m being quiet and so very cute.  Don’t you think that deserves dinner 15 minutes early?  Woof!

My 9th birthday!

Today is my 9th birthday!  Mommy and Daddy say they can’t believe I’m 9.  We got a pupcake from the pet store to celebrate!

Look how yummy it looks, all bone shaped with frosting and sprinkles, yummy!  For whatever reason, Mommy only gave me half of it, though.  No fair, Mommy, it’s my birthday!

I couldn’t wait to eat it!

I ate it all!  Well, the half that Mommy gave me.

And then I licked all the crumbs!

Oh boy, oh boy was it tasty.  I’m hoping to get to eat the other part soon.  My birthday is only once a year, after all!  I hope my next year is full with more tasty treats and squirrel hunting!  Woof!
